Rough Heel…Eeewww

Posted on March 8th, 2010 in cracked heel

Photobucket My heel is disgusting. I guess I got this from wearing too much flipflops. I did some remedies already like scrub, expensive lotions but it’s still the same way. I went to Beauty Bar last Sunday looking for a product that might help me with my problem. My SIL asked me what I was looking for. So I told her about my problem and apparently she had the same problem. She told me to use Ellgy. I remember the product because I have used it before for a bit of cracked heel. Why did I not think of it? Probably because it was just rough skin, but could have gone worst if I didn’t start applying. I wonder what causes cracked/rough heel?

March Portrait

Posted on March 7th, 2010 in DIY makeup, vanity,

Photobucket I finally did it! I got so bored Saturday coz we just stayed home. We planned to watch some movie but then my youngest had something to do in school at 6 pm. While waiting for 5 pm to bring my son to school, I painted my face. I did gold/olive/cream combination. Hopefully you can see the colors a bit. I don’t know but I am not used to putting heavy eye makeup. Even if I do the smokey black, it does not come out dark in photos. When I look at myself in the mirror, it seems like there’s too much already. I think I have the wrong lighting or something. I do my makeup by the window, with natural light. Is the natural light so bright that it makes a lil makeup too bright? Oh next time I’ll experiment putting on more. Or should I stick to what I am used to. I think I should since it looks a bit natural. I am wearing makeup to enhance or bring out the beauty more and not make me look like someone I’m not. Oh I’ll do the smokey black/gray in April.

Once a Month At Least

Posted on March 4th, 2010 in makeup artist wannabe

Photobucket Part of my New Year’s Resolution was to take a snapshot of myself at least once a month. I wanna see my aging progress, haha just kidding. It’s more like the makeup thing really, the DIY skills. I am a makeup artist wannabe and I don’t want to lose my touch. I am just fond of playing beauty parlor at home since I can’t put up my own salon. There are just too many nowadays that you see it at every corner you pass by. Hopefully I can start this March, maybe this afternoon perhaps? I totally look different now since I put on about 20 more lbs.

I Want a New Laptop

Posted on March 4th, 2010 in computers, shareware

I don’t have my own computer right now. It died on me a couple of months back. It was barely 2 years old. I couldn’t believe it. I brought it to the service center to have it fixed and guess what? They are charging me with an unbelievable amount. An amount that can let me buy a new laptop. Crazy isn’t it? What’s sad there is I lost a lot of files. I have an external HD alright, but due to laziness I did not transfer the files in the hard drive. Yes this happened twice already and I have not learned my lesson.

Anyway I am thankful that my son is letting me use his computer. He actually has a spare laptop, his old one which he is letting me use too. I just don’t like to use it because it is so slow. This computer I’m using right now very fast. It can even be faster I guess if I’d be able to delete all those duplicate files. Thing is I don’t want to do it manually. But being an internet junkie that I am, of course I found something that would just do that, I mean windows delete duplicate files. I don’t have to do it manually then since it is really very time consuming. Haha, I always get a reward for being an internet junkie. I am always the first to discover and find out new things. But my b*tt is hurting from spending too much time in front of the PC.

I Love Wearing Glasses

Posted on March 2nd, 2010 in eyeglasses

Everyone in the family wears glasses. My kids started out really young. I’m trying to guess as to why since they don’t really watch too much television. I think it’s more on the video games or probably they are just after their Dad. I on the other hand started wearing glasses about 5 years ago. I used to have 20/20 vision until I got my hands in making beaded accessories, knitting, crocheting, reading, computer, and video games. If not for these activities, I still would have that 20/20 vision. Anyway no regrets really on doing those activities, it kept me occupied, happy and fulfilled.

I don’t mind wearing glasses too. I like my look when I get to wear these glasses. I just love the shapes and colors of those frames. I can even say that it enhances the way I look with those glasses on. Other people might hate wearing glasses simply because it hides their eyes, but to me wearing glasses is cool. It makes me look like a genius too. Haha I remember the movies. Actors whose roles are supposed to be teachers, nerds, doctors, etc are to wear glasses. It’s like wearing glasses is the gauge to intelligence or being smart. Do you agree with me? As I’ve said I look like a genius when I wear one, even the funkiest shape gives me that nerdy look.

Excited…Disappointed

Posted on March 2nd, 2010 in friends, presents

My friend sent me SMS that she already sent out via Fedex the stuff she’s giving me. I got really excited, doubly excited at that when I found out the she shipped it via Fedex, meaning the stuff can get here in 3 days or the most 4 days. She gave me the tracking number, and what do you know? She mailed the package in Feb. 23 and it got to the Philippines on the 27th, the same day it was out for clearance too (custom). Up until now the website says that there is a delay in the clearance. I don’t understand the Customs’ Office. Why is it so hard for them to give the clearance? Is it really hard to compute the duties if ever there is? But I really doubt that there is. Anyway whenever I get home, the first thing I ask is if the package got here already. Always I get disappointed coz what are we now? March 3 and it still has not gotten anywhere but at the Customs’ Office.

It Looks New!

Posted on March 1st, 2010 in used cars

I just mentioned in my previous entry that my daughter just got her student permit. Now she can learn how to drive. At this point I don’t really see the excitement in her, probably because there’s still school to think of and she’ll be graduating from High School. Oh this is between you and me. I have a little apprehension on allowing her to use my car. I’d rather that her Dad buys her one of these used cars. Anyway she is still learning, well not that I don’t want to lend her my car, but I don’t like to see dents here and there. She has to take a look at one of these used ford cars, but I don’t think she’d go for that. She is not really very familiar with that brand yet. She’d rather have one of these used volkswagen cars, a Herbie. Do you remember that movie? I think she would love to own a Herbie. But wait, she’ll jump with joy if her Dad picks a used bmw car. She wouldn’t mind having it and I think she’s gonna keep it for good even she has learned the ropes of driving. A beamer is a beamer, yay! Can I borrow your car Ish?

License to Drive

Posted on February 28th, 2010 in HGV insurance, auto insurance, truck insurance

A few Mondays back, we accompanied our daughter to get her student permit at the Land Transportation Office (LTO). She’s now 16, the age when someone can officially learn how to drive with the help of a pro (red license owner). She almost got disappointed when she heard that part of the requirement was to have a TIN (Tax Identification Number). This guy we talked to (a contact so we don’t have to wait for hours) insisted that the TIN is actually needed. I was arguing with him, how can a student possess a TIN number since they are not working yet. Anyway instead of going home, I went directly to the office to inquire. It turned out that this contact of ours was not updated. They used to require TIN even to students, but since a lot have expressed disappointment over this requirement, they changed it. Students are no longer required to have one.

The requirements in getting a student permit are as follows: photocopy of the student ID, photocopy of the ID of the Parent or Legal Guardian, and a letter of consent from the parent allowing the child to get a student permit. We waited for about 2 hours before we finally got the permit. You see this is the reason why we have a “contact” over there, waiting time can be cut by 1.5 hours. Now that my daughter wants to learn how to drive, and of course she will be out in the streets, I just hope that these huge trucks have their HVG insurance too. It’s hard if they don’t, it would be very difficult to run after them. Oh this reminds me, I am due to renew my auto insurance too. I can’t let this pass since Ish will be driving my car temporarily until she has a car of her own. Yippee, I’m going to have a personal driver soon, and a pretty one at that.

I Spoke Too Soon

Posted on February 25th, 2010 in FB games

Oh my goodness, I am back to playing FB games. I guess I spoke too soon. I hate myself for doing it, I was good until the 4th day. Anyway the good news is even though I am back to playing, I can say that it does not take most of my time anymore. Yeah I have discipline now. I am able to take care of other things. Now it’s not like my world revolves around FB games. I can now knit, read and do my exercise using the wii fit. So far, so good and I am planning to keep it that way.

I Am Not Desperate at All

Posted on February 19th, 2010 in dvd marathon

So I was on dvd marathon yesterday, Desperate Housewives. I have a lot of catching up to do since the last time I watched was like 2 years ago? Yeah 2 years go, and that was the end of season 2. I started out with season 3 but got only 4 episodes, then I totally forgot about it. I was even surprised to learn from my friend that it’s on it’s 6th season already, dang I am so behind. So what am I going to do now? I plan to watch at least 3 episodes a day in order to catch up. I can go even more on weekends. My daughter loves to watch it too and I’ll be glad to do Desperate Housewives marathon with her. I know we will be able to catch up with season 6 in no time. What if I miss an episode? There’s free torrents if you know what I mean. There’s a secret I want to share with you. I really find running in the treadmill a burden. Whenever I step on it, I wish it was over all the time. But in order to keep up with it, I watch like 3 episodes of Gossip Girl and before I now it I’ve done one and a half hours of walking. Cool, right? Maybe I can do Desperate Housewives while walking on the treadmill too.

No More FB(ing)?

Posted on February 19th, 2010 in addiction

I think I’m finally getting tired of playing FB games. Not that I play a lot of games. My faves include Pet Society, Farmville, and Cafe World. I go to Restaurant City only to approve trades from friends. I’ve given up Farmtown a month ago I think and when you try and visit my farm it’s not a sight to behold. It’s all brown and dry. I think this is just the right decision. I’ve given up a lot of things just by playing this games. I am addicted, well aside from being a FB addict too. I can’t totally give up FB at the moment since this is a great way to keep in touch with relatives and friends. But I have decided to lessen my exposure there too. I might as well post my Avatar on Rapidshare so my online presence won’t be missed. Honestly I have spent most of my time going online lately. And I don’t think I like it. No wonder my bootie grows bigger and bigger each day from sitting. I get lazy to do things and all I want to do is sit it out in front of the puter. Great, what am I waiting for? To just wake up one day and find myself on the obese side already because of too much munching of chips and drinking soda? That’s my partner whenever I’m online. Bad, bad me!

Budget Tips for the Summer

Posted on February 19th, 2010 in summer vacation

School will be out next month. It’s vacation time for the kids. We actually don’t have plans yet on where to go. I don’t know if we have funds to go out of the country. Last summer we spent a few days in Beijing and Shanghai and it was really a great experience. It was a perfect bonding time for the family, just the four of us. The kids took care of themselves and I was surprised that they were able to. You see we couldn’t afford to bring a yaya (nanny) with us. That trip cost an arm and a leg, much more bring a nanny? But I wish we had enough, it can really be a perfect reward for the nanny for who has spent 18 years with us already. Well the most that we can do for her is bring her with us on roadtrips.

I’ve traveled quite a few times but I still don’t have enough confidence to put up a Budget Travel Blog Tips to share to everyone. It’s probably because I haven’t traveled enough? Or probably I don’t have enough ideas to share. But someday I wish that I will be able to put up something like that. If I was able to put up this blog about me being creative and stuff, I guess one day I can share travel tips too, yeah why not!

I Got a Boyfriend!

Posted on February 19th, 2010 in silly-ness

Photobucket That was included in the balikbayan box my sister sent a couple of years back for my son. That shorts no longer fits him now, it didn’t fit me either at that time my sister sent it to us. But look, 21 lbs. later it now fits me. I call it my boyfriend shorts. I actually saw it in one of the display windows (I think it was Zara) in December and it gave me the idea to get it from my son’s closet and transfer it to mine :P

Learning Things the Hard Way

Posted on February 16th, 2010 in friendship

Misunderstandings…when it rains it really pours. Something came up lately. I really felt bad about it but I kept my distance. The crying triggered it for she does not really cry that easily. Things kept coming, some maybe be the truth and some lies. This is quite understandable, when you are angry and hurt you’d do a lot of things to get even. But it has to stop somewhere. In this case it’s not longer helping but destroying the person. Funny that you only accept the apologies given when it conforms to your wants. When it’s not, you are back to your usual angry self. Things may seem negative at this point, but holding grudges is a no-no. Charge it to experience is all I can say. With all the things that happened, both parties have learned their lessons. I have always been taught not to carry baggages/grudges to the grave but instead to learn a thing or two from it. Life’s hard and we all learn the hard way. I am so thankful that despite it all, we all have remained positive about the whole thing. We should always remind ourselves that this thing is only a part of our being, it’s the the whole for someone to sulk. It would help though if only rv rentals can be obtained at this point. A getaway is always the start of something new, leaving behind all the not so wonderful things, but not leaving behind the lessons learned.

I’m 50…Nah Make that 53

Posted on February 16th, 2010 in general

Woohoo! That’s one off the list. I recently bought a Wii Fit Plus. Yes I am not contented with my three times a week aerobics class. That is actually the reason why I bought the Wii Fit Plus. As much as possible I want to do my fitness thing on a regular basis. I feel light whenever I exercise and on days that I don’t I feel really lazy. I have a treadmill at home but for some reason I get lazy at the thought of using it. It bores me. Wii Fit Plus is the exact opposite. So far it’s fun, you don’t feel like burning calories at all. It’s more like “playing” rather than exercising. I don’t reach the point that I want to stop, I don’t feel that it’s a burden to keep fit. Sometimes I’m thinking, is it the kid in me that I am still fond of playing? Probably yes, but I am happy it turned that way and I want to keep it that way. Even if my wii fit age tells me that I am 50, which is 6 years older than my actual age, no big deal. Nope I am lying. I can’t accept the fact that I’m 50. I created another mii and did the usual process and guess what, it was even worst…53. That’s just a number, a number that will inspire me to keep on exercising and I can’t wait to mail all the save the date postcards for you to see me when I’m back in shape.

More on SEO

Posted on February 12th, 2010 in search engine optimization

I guess each one of us already know by now about how important SEO is. To us website owners, we know very well that if our websites are optimized, it would always figure out in search engines. What does this mean? People would always turn to search engines when they need something. When such word is typed, one would always end up first in the page thereby giving that website the most number of viewers or potential customers. I wanted to learn more about optimization and I was lead to Austin Search Engine Optimization. I all the more got interested because of the testimonials I read. With the right Search Engine Optimization in your website, you will see the positive results maybe a few days after it is optimized.

My Queen Bee

Posted on February 12th, 2010 in DIY projects, arts and crafts

Photobucket Hey Mom! Can we buy this queen bee headband I saw in one of the sites? And I said ok, without looking at the price or should I say without paying attention to the price. Come morning I went to the site she mentioned and I was like, hey I can manage to do that! That same day, I found myself heading to Tabora, Divisoria. Lo and behold, I spent a little of four hundred pesos for the materials. I actually still lack a few small beads (or whatever it’s called) so I think I will have to go again sometime next week.

Photobucket My darline doll so very happy with her queen bee headband!

Debt Solutions

Posted on February 10th, 2010 in credit card, debt solution

Everyone during the holidays spent a lot. It’s inevitable. Even if we want to tighten our belts and spend only for important ones, we end up spending more than what are supposed to. Common problem after the holidays are maxed out credit cards, not just one but sometimes three. We don’t know how we are going to pay for our credit card bills and all bills that are starting to pile up. And to make it worst are the interest rates that are incurred for late payments or non-payments. This is actually the cause why people get into trouble with plastic cards. I once had this problem but I’m glad I’m over it now. Someone shared with me that credit card debt consolidation could be the solution to the problem. Honestly I didn’t go into that, but thought of it as a last resort. I am just probably lucky that someone helped me out, but for those ones who really need to settle their debt asap, then that could be the solution. There are a lot of ways debt consolidation can help you. For one it can reduce your interest rates. This is really important because a big chunk of what you pay goes here. If you want to get rid of collection calls which somethings can be embarrassing, then this is for you too. On top of it all, if you really want to go debt free, then you have to go for it.

Chocolate for a Cause

Posted on February 10th, 2010 in chocolates for Vee day, valentine presents, valentine's day

Valentine’s Day will be celebrated in a few days, 4 days to be exact. Do you have something for your loved ones? Have you thought of a special present for them? I have an idea to share with you. It will not only make your loved ones happy but at the same time you are helping the people of Haiti. Yes, buying this Dark Chocolate for your loved one is helping the people of Haiti too. The people behind this shop have decided to donate 100% of their profits until Valentine’s Day. I really admire the generosity of this company. This is probably their way of sharing God’s blessings to them the past years. Let’s do our share too by buying stuff from them.

Supplement Plans for Seniors

Posted on February 7th, 2010 in insurance, medicare supplement plans

Does your health insurance cover almost everything? Normally the answer would be yes. Then you would be surprised when you find out that many gaps are not covered by your policy. The reason would probably be that you policy wasn’t discussed with you in full detail, or maybe some details were left out. It could also be that when you were scouting for an insurance, you didn’t see the need to included some of these so called gaps. Don’t worry about this. There is no need to change policies but instead you can opt for one of these medicare supplement plans. An agent can help you out with a plan that will suit your needs.
