Poor in Time Management

Posted on July 26th, 2010 in grrRANTS

Photobucket That’s what’s keeping me busy nowadays aside from FB(ing) and farming, and yeah not to forget PetSoc too. I want to squeeze in knitting too since the daughter is requesting that I make her one more slouchy beret. I wish I had more than 24 hours in a day or is it just a matter of how I manage my time? Am I saying that I do have poor time management? I need to think about this so that I will be productive in anything that I do. I hope to be able to balance all these since one aspect is really eating much of my time. This is what happens when I have all the time in my hand, I dilly dally on many things. I forget to prioritize things and it’s always spur of the moment. I don’t think it’s good if it happens everyday. I believe that I need to plan some things so that I can be more productive. Spur of the moment stuff should only happen once in a while. Agree or not?

My Mother’s Dresser

Posted on July 23rd, 2010 in bedroom furniture

Whenever I’m at my Mom’s house, I make it a point to fix myself in her dresser. I remember that dresser from way back, when I was still small, in the province where I was born. It’s been with Mom for more than 50 years I think. It still looks good except that the mirror really needs to be changed. I promise Mom that I will take care of it, but sad to say until now I still haven’t done it. I really need to find time to do this because if not I won’t be able to change the mirror. I actually know where to buy the mirror, but then again I keep on forgetting. Gosh, I’m really getting old. I know, that mirror gives away my age, but so what? Age is just a number as a lot of people are saying. Yeah it’s true.

Ooopsie, going back to what I was talking about, did I ever mention that I don’t own a dresser in our house? I don’t know how that happened. I still want to have one though and I was thinking of choosing from one of these bedroom dressers. It somewhat looks like what my Mom has and it would be cool to have one almost similar to what she has. By that I will always be reminded of how a beautiful woman my Mom is.

I Just Love It

Posted on July 21st, 2010 in Mac Products, Uncategorized, iPhone

I’m not really an avid fan of Mac products (I am the only one in the family who isn’t) but with the iPhone, I am totally in love. At first I thought I would have a hard time with it since I wasn’t a Mac user at all. But when it was handed to me, boy I couldn’t stop myself from discovering what there was. I enjoyed it the first time it landed my palm and there was no stopping. Now I can say that I am a number one fan. This is also the reason why I was so looking forward to the launch of Iphone 4. I have read some of the reviews, both good and bad and after reading it I still want to upgrade my unit. I love how the new iPhone 4 looks like, somewhat sleek and sophisticated. I heard too that it’s a lot faster, now I am not even complaining about the speed of the version I have and yet they came out with a faster one. I couldn’t complain more. What I love about my unit is the fact that it takes very good photos which I can immediately post in social networks, this is the fun part and this is why I love having an iPhone too. If I am content with the megapixel of the old one, what can I say about 5? Whoa! I don’t really need to bring my digital camera around. I will be content with the 5 mega that it gives me. Now I can understand why iPhone has a lot of avid followers, I can attest to what everyone is raving about because I rave about it too, isn’t it obvious how I really love my iPhone?

My Love for Sandals

Posted on July 20th, 2010 in Forever21, fashion, sandals

Photobucket I posted a photo in my other blog the sandals that I really wanted to get at Forever21. I went around the store but did not find it. I ended up holding that pair (what you see in the photo) and proceeded to the counter. Then I saw the sandals that I really liked. I left the line and looked for a good 10 minutes but did not find it again, only to find our that there were only 2 left, the other pair which was purchased by the lady I saw in line and the size 9 which was left in the basket. Boohoo, I am a size 6. Yes I am a bit disappointed but then again who can’t be happy with that sandals you see on here? I’m going back to Forever21 this afternoon this time with my daughter. I still have a budget left for another pair of sandals. Hope I find a pretty one.

Helping in My Own Little Way

Posted on July 17th, 2010 in gold, investment

I remembered helping a friend a few years back. I think they were really short on cash because knowing her she wouldn’t part with important stuff. Anyway I got a call from her one day. She was asking if I could dispose of her jewelry, gold in particular. She had quite a lot, all sorts of rings, bracelets, necklaces and even anklets. I know it’s so hard to let go of of these personal belongings, but if the occasion calls for it then why not. The amount I gave her was more than enough to cover that particular need she said. I am so thankful that I was able to help her in my own little way.

Now I remember what I have been hearing from someone close to my heart. He mentioned during our talks that if ever we have extra money, we should invest it wisely. He also told me in passing that investing in gold is a wise decision. He should know because he has been there. He really had a humble beginning and if I look at him now, he is way up there all because of what he mentioned. Time and again he would mention that it’s wise to buy gold coins. I think he did at one time because he was able to give me one and I am still keeping it up to this day. I have seen and witness with my two eyes how gold can rescue a person from financial difficulty. This is one investment where the price does not go down. In my whole existence I have yet to witness the price of gold go down, it always appreciates.

A Teacher

Posted on July 16th, 2010 in distance learning, online classes

I have a lot of time in my hands especially now that the kids have grown older. They don’t occupy much of my time since they can now take care of themselves. Yes, I was a hands on Mom and I was very visible in their school life. I was always in school to see to it that they have everything they need. I was always there for them helping them out with the assignments and stuff. Now that they can do things on their own and need only minimal help. This is why I’m telling you I have all the time in the world. Now what do I do? I’m thinking of online classes. I’ve done cooking class, I’m thinking of doing crafts class but I think I want something more. Something that will add up to my stock knowledge. A Master’s Degree or a second course perhaps. Did I tell you that I want to be a teacher? I wanted to shift courses when I was in college, but my father didn’t permit me because I was already in my third year. Is this the right time you think? Am I not too old to add another degree? Do I have the time to do these? As they say, nobody is too old to learn. And that time? Now if you are familiar with distance learning on online classes, you’ll agree with me that I have all the time.

It Gets Messy Sometimes

Posted on July 16th, 2010 in nail art

Photobucket I went to the kiosk that sells korean nail polish once more. As usual I bought a few more stuff, arrrrggghhh why can’t I get enough of nail polish? It’s prolly because they come up with new colors every time I go there and just can’t resist. Oh and that nail art you see in the photo? The saleslady taught me how to do that. I’ve gotten a few ideas already on how to do my nails and it’s cute all the time. And the korean guy (gay?) he does very nice nail art too. And when he does it with your nails, you’ll be encouraged to purchase the colors he used =) Now that’s what you call business strategy.

Forgive the messy hand, that’s what you get when you go DIY. I sometimes press the tube too hard, more than what I need so I wipe it off in my skin.

I Need a Business Card

Posted on July 15th, 2010 in biz, business card

My little business is starting to take off. I have a few more orders that I need to ship. I am happy because a lot have been appreciating my work. It’s no joke to start a business venture and be successful with it, so I am really thankful to the Lord that mine is slowly picking up. It’s tiring sometimes because I do everything. It is still small and I don’t see the need yet to expand. But then again if I begin to be lazy, how can I be successful?

Anyway I started improving my packaging too. I now have a cute box to put in the stuff that I make. I redesigned my old logo since a lot of them suggested that I put the name Hipncoolmomma. Yes, that is my online name. I’m also thinking of having a business card made. I will be choosing from these custom business cards which I think is apt for my business. Their designs are really catchy, and very pleasing to the eye. The colors are nicely put together making the card attractive just like the stuff that I make. What I like about this site is that it allows you to upload the designs you made yourself. Oh maybe I can do this too, I’m going to have 2 sets made. I wonder if they do notecards too. I finished designing my notecard and I’m having it printed soon.

Trick or Treat with Her New Friends

Posted on July 15th, 2010 in halloween, trick or treat

My daughter is enjoying her college life. She’s got lots of friends contrary to what her former friends told her. I’m really glad that she was able to recover from the hurt caused by those former friends. Funny how those former friends do not like her and yet they keep on updating themselves on what’s happening in her life. They still keep talking about her. I told my daughter not to mind them anymore as there are more important things to take care of. I’ve been praying that she will find friends who love the Lord and my prayer was answered.

Anyway come Halloween, I’m sure that she’ll be interested to go trick or treat with her new found friends. She loves to do that every year and it would be wonderful if she could do it again this year. For a change I want her to try out one of the Fraggle Rock Costumes . I heard this is new and will only come out this halloween. I think she will love it because it’s not typical of what she has been wearing all these years. Plus the costumes look like one of the characters of Sesame Street which she is quite fascinated with. I find it unique too which makes me want to use it too if ever I will be asked to join them.

Power Outage

Posted on July 15th, 2010 in blahs

We didn’t have electricity for almost a day. Good thing it was windy because of the typhoon and we didn’t have a hard time getting our sleep. The wind was really strong and it produced some kind of a banging sound on our windows. It bothered me a bit waking me from my sleep, but it was not really bad. Since we didn’t have electricity at home and it has gotten hotter, we decided to go to the mall to watch a movie. Seemed like everyone is there. I think that’s how we filipinos are. Looking at the lines in the counter to buy movie tix, it made me want to go home instead, it was just too long. Good thing I was patient that day and waited for my turn to reach the counter. Falling in line was all worth it, Knight and Day was superb. I love it.

Band Playing

Posted on June 26th, 2010 in music

First it was the daughter, now it’s the son. Seems like I have musically inclined children. A couple of years back, Ish requested for a guitar and she said she wanted to take up guitar lessons. I sent her to a guitar class one summer and she found it awesome in fact she wanted to get in another class. She knows how to play the guitar now but not as good though, she hasn’t been practicing. Now it’s the son’s turn. At first he just borrowed his sister’s guitar and learned all by himself just by watching tutorials on how to play the guitar. He’s good because he is now able to play. He is asking me to buy him this instrument and I wish I can make use of Musicians Friend coupon so I can get to save and be able to buy him what else he needs. I’m sure it does not stop there. The cousins have their own instruments too and I am so looking forward to have them all play together, a band or something. Sounds cool, right? I would probably suggest for all of them to bring their instruments whenever we have family reunion. This would be a different experience and I bet everyone will enjoy, even the old folks.

Hiphuggers

Posted on June 25th, 2010 in undies

A friend once asked me why I wasn’t into sexy panties. That made me think and I was like yeah why not? But really I am so used to my hiphuggers that are so soft and comfortable to wear. I’m not saying that those sexy undies are not, it’s just that I am still not used to it. Yes, I have a few of that lying in my cabinet waiting to be worn. Who knows in the future I will be able to wear them (I found some really cute ones online), but meanwhile I am so happy with my hiphuggers.

Nailart Tutorial at YouTube

Posted on June 24th, 2010 in nailart

Photobucket I always plan on doing my nails but always end up not doing it. Something always comes up when I like to do it. Last night I had to force myself since my nails have really gotten ugly. Initially I wanted another design but I don’t have a nice black color. The black that we have sucks real bad. I had to redo it a couple of times and finally gave up. So I got my 3 shades of blue and decided on doing what you see in the photo. I actually got the idea from a nailart tutorial over at YouTube. If you want to learn nail art, that’s the best site to go to, just search the keyword and you’ll be overwhelmed by the number of tutorials to watch.

Our Guest Room

Posted on June 22nd, 2010 in house and home

Our guest room is such a mess nowadays. I’ve converted it into a craft room but I don’t really plan on doing that forever. It’s just that I love the light that’s coming through the windows from outside. I don’t need to turn on the light, therefore save on electricity. I also like the fact that it has a big window leaving the place cooler than the other rooms. Now can you blame me why I picked the guest room? But seriously it won’t be long and I might do my craft stuff in the library. That was what I had in mind when we built this house. The library can be the arts and crafts room too.

Now going back to the guest room, I want to transform it to something that would look like a room in a hotel. I’ve been dreaming of doing just that and I found the kind of Bedroom Sets I like. Surely if I will be able to really purchase everything that is according to my taste then that room will look like something you only find in the magazines and in the homes of the rich and famous. But I will only do that if I have enough money to spare. Not that those stuff are expensive, it’s just that at the moment there are other more important things to take care of. I know I can do that when the time comes.

Auto Insurance in LA

Posted on June 21st, 2010 in Uncategorized

I asked the driver to renew the registration of the van. It’s almost past due and I don’t like to pay the additional fine if ever we don’t renew on time. Knowing our driver, when he gets back, he has lots of stories to tell, no fail. Anyway, he told us that the car of the one assisting us with our LTO needs got stolen. More on a carnap thing I guess. Good thing they have car insurance, if not it would really be devastating on their part. That’s one of the reasons why I usually opt to get a car insurance among other things. It’s actually the benefits you get when you have one. No wonder in the US especially in LA, every car owner is required to have Los Angeles Car Insurance. Scouting for the perfect company used to be tedious. You needed to keep in touch with all of them just to get insurance quotes. But look now, someone put together Los Angeles Auto Insurance where you can find the cheapest and the most affordable one. They have actually negotiated and made deals with the different insurance companies just to be able to get a good rate and offer it to their customers. For more information about Car Insurance Los Angeles you can call their toll-free number at 1-800-475-6840. You can also request an insurance quote from them.

BraceletaBreloques

Posted on June 21st, 2010 in Uncategorized

Photobucket I’ve gone back to making beaded bracelets with charms. I used to sell chunky ones before, well that was the in thing at that time and I was able to sell a lot. This time I’m trying to do a set of about 7-10 strands which is to be worn all together. Nope it doesn’t look bulky at all coz the size of the beads are kinda small. I’m experimenting on the colors and my friend Krisa told me that it was nicely put together. Coming from someone who’s got taste, I am indeed happy, truly it must be beautiful. I’m trying to sell them only over at my MULTIPLY account. If you have time please visit and take a look.

Mom’s Love for Perfume

Posted on June 21st, 2010 in perfume

I can’t leave the house without wearing my favorite scent. I think I got it from Mom who is so fond of perfumes. She wouldn’t leave the house either without putting them on. I think even if she does not leave home she still puts because she always smelt good. My sisters would always send her these Perfumes which happens to be her fave brands. There’s this particular brand that she likes which can only be found online and whenever we can, we usually buy it for her. I inherited my love for scents from Mom, even my sister Rach inherited it from her too. But I really don’t know where my sister got the idea of pouring perfume in the pail for her final rinse, I remember her doing that every time she takes a bath. I wonder if she still does that until now.

Scouting for an Insurance

Posted on June 14th, 2010 in life insurance

Are you scouting for insurance? What kind of insurance are you looking for? Is it life, car, home, travel or business? Do you still remember the time when you needed to wait for ages just to get insurance quotes from your agents? Do you also remember agents bugging you or wait the right term for that is follow up but it turns into bugging because you get annoyed at them for calling you 24/7 or something like that. How about getting quotes from different agents representing different companies? I have experienced all that and it’s such a relief that everything is now readily available online, if you know what I mean. When you live in Australia, keep in mind that zippy is your best source for insurance needs. Just by hitting the get quote button, expect up to 14 quotations from different insurance companies. Yeah gone are the days that you need to wait for weeks just to be able to get a copy of the quotes. Today, with just one click everything is readily available. All you need to do is study and compare. You can even decide in a day which really suits your needs. That’s how fast it is now since the beginning of internet age. Honestly I like it, it not only saves me money but my precious time too.

Major House Repair

Posted on June 14th, 2010 in house and home

Photobucket Summer in the tropics is the best time to do some major house repairs, well at least for us. For three years, leaking was a problem especially when it rained hard. Water would form into puddles inside the house and we would constantly mop the floors. It was such a hassle. It turned out that the water proofing on the firewalls wasn’t working at all. What we did was do the water proofing all over again. We had 4 workers to do the job and thank God everything is fixed now. It rained hard already and there was no leak at all. We also changed the color of the facade of the house from yellow to terracotta. I liked yellow better, but the new color looks good too. It made the house antique looking.

Scholarships List

Posted on June 14th, 2010 in scholarships, school

Not many are fortunate enough to go to college especially in our time and age. Times have really gone harder and sometimes it’s just impossible to send yourself to school. But then again you look for means simply because you want to have better jobs. Some spend time looking around for scholarships, grants and all. But did you know that there are easy scholarships you can get? Most often than not, people overlook this. They would usually think of the grades one could possibly have in order to get a scholarship. Well yeah it’s still the grades that could easily get you one, but there are other ways too. This is really nice because it gives everyone a fair chance of getting into college and landing in the job that one dreams of. I often tell my children to always make good in their schooling since their future pretty much depends on it. One can never get the dream job or the highest paying job if they are not able to further their studies. And since they are given this opportunity, I always have to constantly remind them that not everyone gets the privilege of going to school. I hope they get a good grasp of what I am saying so that when I’m gone they know what to do.
